THE END OF THE WORLD
by
Nikolle Doolin
“Today the world will die. I have seen it in the eye-shut
state, when silence speaks volumes and spirit guides come forth with
messages.”
Maine gave a cursory glance at the dotard seated beside her on the park
bench. “Is that so?”
The woman stared at the ground as if noticing something significant
there. “Yes. It is so,” she replied.
Maine sighed. “Well, then, I guess I’ll just have to tie up
all those loose ends this afternoon.”
The old woman rose to her feet and pointed to something behind
her. Maine turned around and the sky was gone.
